I’m a middle and high school ELA teacher, a mom of two, and the person behind Best Class Ever.
I started creating resources because I was tired of spending my Sunday nights building materials from scratch for Monday morning. I wanted something that looked good, worked well, and didn’t require me to reinvent the wheel every week. When I couldn’t find exactly what I needed, I started making it myself.
Turns out, other teachers needed the same thing.
What Best Class Ever is about
Every resource I create follows a simple philosophy: it should be ready to use, engaging for students, and respectful of your time.
That means clean, thoughtful design — not clip art chaos. It means activities that actually make kids think, not just fill in blanks. And it means you can download something tonight and use it tomorrow without spending an hour customizing it first.
I specialize in middle and high school ELA — novel studies, grammar, literary analysis, short stories, poetry, and writing. Everything is designed with the kind of scaffolding that helps struggling readers access the material while still challenging your strongest students.
The stuff I care about
Real engagement over busywork. If an activity doesn’t make students think, it doesn’t belong in a classroom. Every resource includes discussion questions, creative responses, and opportunities for students to bring their own perspective to the text.
Design that doesn’t hurt your eyes. Students take work more seriously when it looks professional. Teachers feel better handing out something polished. My resources use a clean, magazine-inspired aesthetic because good design shouldn’t be reserved for corporate presentations.
Teacher sanity. I work about ten hours a week on Best Class Ever because I also have a full-time job and two small humans who need me. Everything I build is designed to save you time, not create more work. Answer keys are included. Instructions are clear. Formatting is consistent.
Where to find me
My resources are all on Teachers Pay Teachers — that’s where you can browse, preview, and purchase anything I’ve created. I also share teaching ideas, strategies, and behind-the-scenes looks at resource creation right here on the blog. And if you’re on Pinterest, that’s where I post weekly pins with teaching tips and resource previews.
